Want to Have Fun? Look Here!

Over the years in Kamloops, my friends and I have found ways to spend our free time. In the spring, we would go hiking around the lake, like Paul Lake. We can also barbecue and fish by the lake. In the summer, we go to the BC Wildlife Park on a sunny day and sometimes interact with the goats and other animals there. In winter, we would go skiing at Sun Peaks or choose some indoor activities (rock climbing, badminton), etc.

Come Here — Enjoy the Food

As a Chinese student, FIRST of all, I’d like to recommend some Chinese restaurants. YX Restaurant — This is a Sichuan restaurant. If you like spicy food, this restaurant is a must! I really like its boiled duck-blood curd, chili chicken and rice noodles with mixed sauce.

If you like light cuisine, Gary’s House of Kwan is another great restaurant. There are many authentic Cantonese food for you to choose from.
Kamloops also has great Japanese, Korean, Thai, Indian food. The website we provide has many restaurant introductions. You can choose your own food to taste!

Be Careful!

During the summer, BC experienced a period of severe wildfire effects. Almost every summer, wildfires break out because of the dryness, and this year they have been particularly bad. My friends and I, while we’re here, got a couple of calls for an emergency evacuation. In those days, the sky was gray every day, and the air was filled with the smell of burning. At its worst, it’s like the end of the world. In addition to summer wildfires, winter snow is not to be underestimated. There is also the possibility of encountering bears or other wild animals in the wild. So, in addition to being safe at all times, you can prepare for natural disasters by checking out EmergencyMapBC before coming to Kamloops.
