interview of Lulu

If I have to live in a place, no matter the length of time, I would like to have a comfortable and quiet place where I can enjoy my own time after a tiring day. Today, I’m going to talk to students and visitors about kamloops’ accommodation. I also interviewed my friend Lulu, who has lived in Kamloops for three years.

Lulu came to kamloops in 2018. She first lived in New Residence in TRU. She told me that she made many new friends there, which made it easy for her to fit into campus life when she first arrived. Moreover, living in the dormitory is close to the teaching building, which reduces the time on the way to class.

A year later, when she was planning to rent an house with friends, they found that they had to search in advance and submit to a landlord’s approval (not required in China) if they wanted to find a suitable place. They were lucky to find a suitable house and a good landlord. However, one of her friends was not so lucky. She lived in an apartment near the school. Her neighbor was keen on holding parties that lasted until the wee hours of the morning almost every week, which made her friend very miserable and finally chose to move.

And the fact is that as Lulu said, renting here is a two-way street between the landlord and the tenant. Of course, if students have a good living habit and credit here, it is not difficult to find a suitable house.

In addition, there are many accommodation options for tourists. As Lulu said in the interview, there are hotels, motels, short-term rentals and so on, which can suit different needs of tourists. I recommend searching for accommodation on the map and booking on various booking sites (such as book.com) or directly on the hotel’s website.

Finally, hope you find your own place in Kamloops.

interviews

Purpose and highlights: Interview a student about accommodation in Kamloops. Focus on her advice on accommodation for students and tourists.

Interview questions:

  1. Please introduce yourself and tell us how long you have been here in Kamloops.

My name is lulu, I’m a TRU student and I’ve been in Kamloops for 3 years.

2. What would you like to say about accommodation for students and tourists?

For new students coming to Kamloops I would recommend either school dorms or Homestay, which is easier and quicker to integrate into local life. After getting used to the place, you can choose to rent on your own or with some friends. For visitors, Kamloops has many hotels, motels and short rentals to choose from.

3.  What should we pay attention to in renting?

I think it’s very important to choose a good landlord, if it’s an apartment, the neighbors are also very important, because surely no one likes a neighbor who has a midnight party.
